Where have I been?
Kansas.
Just found out the other day that I'm the second best hammered dulcimer player in the United States.
Not true.
I was the second best hammered dulcimer player in that contest. All 18 of us. And the judges, clearly, had been drinking. Nonetheless, I drove outta there with a beautiful new dulcimer, (thank you Bob and Mary Tack!!) and handsomely fashioned ties with the mister and good ol' Scott as well! Who could ask for a better trip? Made some amazing friends. Let's not forget our Danish neighbors ("the girls"), Carolyn and Greg (mmm delicious dinner-- thank you for feeding the musicians!!), and the lovely Rebecca and John. And the mind-blowing crowd at Carp Camp. You guys bring a whole new meaning to the word "orgasm". Thanks one and all.
I'm scootin' on off to Switzerland to see what kind of craic they're up to out there... I been hearin' funny things about Appenzell. Time to find out if it's all true what they say about the hackbretts and the liederhosen.
(that would translate "song stockings" if I'm not mistaken)

There are two people who make New Jersey alright. Jimmy and Maggie. Let's hear it for folks who buy land and use it wisely: bonfires, songcircles, and 4-day drunken parties that bring in wonderful people from miles away...
